Turning centers for machine tools: types and features

Turning centers are important tooling elements used in turning machines for reliable fixation and support of workpieces during processing. The most common types of turning centers:

• Mushroom turning centers - have a wide conical support surface, which allows processing workpieces in the form of hollow cylinders, evenly distribute pressure on the workpiece and minimize the risk of damage.
• Centers with replaceable tips - provide versatility and are suitable for processing parts of various shapes. One body can be used with several types of tips: conical, spherical, etc.
• Centers with wear-resistant insert — have increased wear resistance, especially when working with hard materials.
